I've been wondering about world history in a not-so-specific sense. Not dates and battles, or necessarily kings and queens, but peoples. Where they were and when. What overlaps happened. So I scoured Google and found some helpful timelines. These chronologies are generally agreeing on the same data, some are more user friendly but I thought it worth collating them here in case I need them for future reference.
This is the timeline from http://chaos1.hypermart.net/fullsize/ancivfs.gif - on their site it is much more pleasing as you can zoom in. Their index is well-worth a lengthy browse - there are plenty of excellent resources there for the history fan.
